From the Chair…

Greetings everyone!

This issue of the newsletter is packed with information about chapter events and activities.  Please note the application forms for the Librarian Exchange Program and the Retirees Scholarship.  The chapter has sponsored the exchange program for a number of years and participants in the program have reported benefits, both expected and unexpected, from the experience.  Our chapter is blessed with many talented members, and I encourage you to consider participating in an exchange.  The Retirees Scholarship was established last year to provide financial support to library school students to attend our chapter meetings.  We have seen an increase in student membership over the last few years and we are hopeful that the scholarships will make it easier for some of these new members to attend our meetings and become involved in the life of the chapter.  I would also like to report that Rick Jones, our chair-elect, and I will be making visits this spring to several library schools as part of the Library School Outreach Project.  This project was established three years ago to promote the chapter among library schools students interested in music librarianship.
