Q.

I have a preservation question. Someone called me who had water damage to his apartment while he was away and the jackets on his LPs began to mold and mildew. (Fortunately the LPs are not moldy, he says.) He wants to try to salvage what jackets (and box sets) he can and asked for advice. Do you know of a site with this kind of handy information? I did a search on google for "book preservation mold" and got a number of sites. Some which might be useful are

http://www.lib.virginia.edu/cataloging/pres/mold.html

http://palimpsest.stanford.edu/bytopic/genpub/

Another useful site: Procedures for Salvage of Water Damaged Library Materials
